Nova BUILD EXPO 2023 Launches in Bangkok, Driving Billion-Baht Opportunities in Sustainable Architecture

BANGKOK — Nova BUILD EXPO 2023, a landmark global exposition dedicated to building innovations, sustainable design, and smart infrastructure, officially opened its doors at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). Organized by EEC Academy in collaboration with key industry partners, the three-day event (September 13–15) brings together over 10,000 attendees and 123 exhibitors, with business transactions expected to reach several billion baht.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Arthit Ourairat, Founder and Chancellor Emeritus of Rangsit University.

Designed to address rapid shifts in global environmental policies, the expo centers on the ESI Framework:

E – Ecosystem: Eco-conscious building designs that mitigate environmental impact.

S – Sustainability: Responsible developments focused on long-term ecological and community resilience.

I – Innovation for Well-being: Advanced technologies enhancing occupant health, energy efficiency, and operational performance.

Addressing Industry Disruption and ESG Demands

Dr. Kecha Thiengtham, Chairman of the Nova BUILD EXPO Organizing Committee, highlighted the event’s core mission under the concept "Connect the I Dots"—bridging technological innovators directly with real estate developers and designers responding to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) mandates.

"The design and construction industry is undergoing a structural transformation," said Dr. Kecha. "Firms adopting green building standards such as LEED, TREES, and WELL are rapidly capturing market share. We are seeing a fundamental shift—particularly in sectors like healthcare, where modern facilities are transitioning from reactive treatment hubs to preventative, infection-controlled environments designed around human well-being."

Interactive Showcases and High-Level Dialogues

The exposition features an Innovation Pavilion displaying live demonstrations of clean-air systems, radiant cooling, smart lighting, and IoT-driven utility boxes. Over 92 global companies are showcasing cutting-edge solutions, ranging from Hyundai’s ultra-high-speed elevators to district cooling systems by Unisus Green Energy, next-generation graphene applications, and advanced hydrogen battery tech.

According to Kittikun Khachaseni, Executive Director of Nova BUILD, the event delivers actionable value across four key pillars: design innovation, high-level networking, live product testing, and direct engagement with top solutions providers.

Key event highlights include:

Leadership Panels & ESI Talks: Dynamic, 15-minute keynotes from prominent figures, including Prof. Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seree Supratid, translating complex engineering concepts into actionable social impact.

Urban Problem-Solving Roundtables: More than 50 experts collaborating on public solutions, including urban canal revitalization, municipal waste segregation, and green pedestrian zones.

Nova Stage of Designer Award: A nationwide competition showcasing university students pitching sustainable design proposals to an expert panel.
